New Year, New Temperatures

The unseasonably warm weather that we’ ve been having seems like a distant memory now as we are experiencing some cold weather.

The frosty nights and still days have led to some fantastic sunny days and with the help of the woolly hat and winter coat it’s been a pleasure working outside.

Plenty of jobs can be done over the winter, most though are better if frost is not forecast.

Continue to clear the leaves and old debris from last years display.

Give the hedge a trim to tidy it up and it’ ll help the garden look tidy right into the spring.

Don’t give up just yet

November is a time when you may think about packing up for the winter but with the above average warm weather you may have noticed that the lawn. If the l awn is growing then it needs

a trim. There is still plenty of time to get tidied up before Christmas.

At nicenstripy we are always ready to keep your lawn looking it’s best and the majority of customers use our winter lawn cutting service. We will visit on a regular basis throughout the winter to make sure all is well.

Speak to your local nicenstripy to book inter care.

With the majority of the leaves off the trees now, it’s a must to clear them up and put them on the compost heap (or we’ll take them away). Leaves on lawns can cause the grass to die over the winter and if they are left on your paths and driveways they get wet, which could cause a slip.

Don’t forget about your lawns and gardens at this time of the year, do the work now and you’ll have a lovely garden for those sunny months that will be back soon.

July July July

July brings lots of things, the summer, the school holidays, bbq’s and parties and this year for a change it has brought some rain.

Over the last few years July and August (believe it or not) have been relatively dry months but this year, following the driest spring on record, the rain is back and it is more than welcome.

With farmers crops and nicenstripy customers lawns looking very dry towards the end of May and into June with a few spells of rain

they are looking lush once again.  Now is the perfect time to treat you lawn to a summer feed.

After all the stress of the drought period a feed now will be welcomed.  You will be rewarded by a lawn that thickens and greens up and looks great for the bbq’s planned during the rest of

the summer. Try to apply it before rain is due, that way you won’t have to use the sprinkler to water it in.

Early colour in the garden

just as we get close to thinking that the warmer weather is here it turns cold again – but then it is only the last day of February.

Saying that though the crocus are all in full bloom and looked lovely over

the weekend when the sun was out. The daffodils are teasing us with little glimpses on yellow and it won’t be long until they are fully out. We’ve also noticed that the grass has been growing well and are starting our regular lawn cutting visits once again.

For those lawn lovers that like to give the lawn a little more, remember to plan your lawn care for the year, we’ll soon be applying treatments to help control moss and then an early spring feed.

These of course are only part of the full lawn care program, for further information, give your local branch a call, check the branch finder for details.
